All applications will be submitted to the governing body for approval.
CDBG-CV PUBLIC NOTICE OF FUND AVAILABILITY
Local small businesses are currently feeling the unprecedented pressures from the economic and health impacts of COVID-19. In order to help alleviate some of these pressures, the City of Garden City has financial assistance (as available) for working capital through CDBG-CV Funds made available through a $132,000.00 grant provided to the City of Garden City by the CARES Act. Funds will be distributed to qualifying businesses on a first-come, first-serve basis in the form of grants with a maximum amount per grantee of $7,500.00 and must be used by existing businesses for working capital needed to retain jobs. Working capital is defined as salaries/wages, inventory purchase, utilities, rent, insurance payments, etc. Retained jobs must meet the 51% low-to-moderate income requirement of the CDBG-CV program.
Expenses already reimbursed in an approved and awarded City or County CDBG/RLF Program loan or accounted for in funding through the US Government’s Payroll Protection Program are not eligible to submit for consideration of this grant. Expenses not fully covered by one or both of these programs may be included in the grant application.
For assistance with the application, businesses may contact Finney County Economic Development Corporation at 620-271-0388 or Great Plains Development, Inc (City of Garden City Grant Administrator) at 620-227-6406.
