President of Finney County Economic Development Corp.
Finney County Economic Development Corporation is seeking a highly motivated
President to plan, implement and direct a comprehensive economic development
program that will successfully carry out the goals and strategic plan of
Finney County Economic Development. The ideal candidate for this position
will work closely with the Board of Directors, the general business
community, business prospects, regional and state economic development
agencies, other organizations relating to primary economic development and
local government.
Primary responsibilities: Improve the community’s overall living and working
conditions by managing and implementing a community development plan
conducive to business and industry; Retain and create primary jobs; and
broaden the tax base of Garden City and Finney County, Kan. Bachelor’s
degree in business, business administration, economics or related field
preferred. A minimum of 3 years experience in economic development
preferred; demonstrated knowledge, ability, independence and proven track
record of success in previous roles required. Also required: Knowledge of
local and state economic development incentives, ability to perform duties
independently and in team settings, ability to effectively communicate,
exercise initiative and good professional judgment, has management skills,
and ability to maintain detailed transactions and records. Leadership,
marketing, and bilingual English-Spanish abilities are preferred. Extensive
travel is required.
This is a fully benefitted position. Salary commensurate with education and
